Horseplay Review 2025 

Launched in 2012, Horseplay is a sweepstakes casino with a twist. While it works similarly to other sweepstakes casinos in that you are relying on luck, there is a big difference. Rather than betting on RNG-tested games, whether or not you win is down to the outcome of horse races. 

Granted, this sounds quite confusing. But don’t worry, as the process returns to familiar territory after the horse racing is out of the way. Once the horse races have been completed, players can enjoy Slots from a number of major iGaming software developers like IGT. This is where you “unlock” the winnings from the horse races. Players can deposit as little as $10, but new players can also get a 200% deposit bonus up to $250, or 100% up to $20.

How Horseplay Works 

As Horseplay operates a sweepstakes model, the standard two-currency system is also present here, with Cash and Credits instead of Gold Coins and Sweeps Coins. However, here is where the casino diverges from a standard sweeps model. Making a real money deposit grants you Cash. These cannot be used to play casino games directly, and instead must be used to buy Credits. 

Once you’ve bought a package of Credits, the total value of that package is wagered on a series of horse races. After this, Credits are used to play casino games, but whether or not you win, and how much, isn’t determined by the outcome of a RNG but by how the horses you bet on performed. Anything you win can subsequently be either cashed out or used to buy new Credits.

While the first purchase bonus offers an effective way to boost your playing funds, Horseplay also caters its casino bonuses to its existing players. Players receive silver, gold, platinum and emerald bonuses when they make a Credit purchase, which offer extra chances to play.

There is also a Hit Big or Land Easy bonus, which comes in two parts. If your winnings on the horse races are less than less than 20% of your Credit purchase, you’ll be rewarded 20% of your stake thanks to the Land Easy part of the bonus. What’s more, scoring a win worth more than 330% of your stake bumps your winnings up to 600% of your Credit purchase thanks to the Hit Big part of the bonus. I Hit Big three times while testing the site and walked away with over $500 in winnings.

Horseplay Games Selection 

Horseplay has a small casino games library of over 100 titles, but there are a number of major developers like IGT. Most of the games are Slots, although there are a number of Arcade and Bingo titles present as well. All games are fully available to players, and demo mode is also available, which is very nice to see. While volatility and RTP data is available at the casino, it’s not needed as whether you win or not is based on the horse races, as I mentioned earlier.

Online Slots

Online Slots make up the bulk of the library at Horseplay, and are split into four categories: New Releases, Spinners, Reel Classics, and More Great Games. However, there’s not much variety on offer here, which most likely has to do with the fact that the Slots themselves don’t impact your chances of winning. 

Features like Scatter-based games and Megaways are not available in any of the Slots. The minimum bet is $0.40, which is a bit high for my liking, especially as there is no guarantee how much you’ll actually win like with a normal Slot.

Arcade Games

Most of the Arcade Games utilize Bingo or Scratch Card mechanics, but they are incredibly enjoyable to play regardless. I was also happy to see other methods of play besides Bingo and Scratch Cards, as I enjoyed playing Video Poker on Horseplay as well. 

There’s also a unique title called In the Black, where you have to clear black squares against the clock. Land on a white square and it’s game over. This was a lot more fun than I anticipated, although I wouldn’t play this game on a mobile phone as it’s much easier to land on a white square by accident.

The banking system at Horseplay is incredibly simple. Although the payment options at Horseplay are restricted, staple methods like Mastercard, Visa and Bank Transfers are all available. It’s also easy to buy Credits ranging from $10 to $250, and the deposits are almost instant.

Remember, you’re not betting on casino games outright as you are instead betting on horse races when you purchase Credits. I like the fact that you can check which horses you’re betting on by clicking the ‘See Wager Details’ button, and you can also reshuffle your wagers if you don’t like what you’ve been given.

Is Horseplay Legit?

As Horseplay entails an element of sports betting, this requires a stronger license than your typical sweepstake casino. Although Horseplay is licensed in the states it operates in, the stricter requirements mean it is unavailable in most US states.

The extra licensing requirements also lends itself to greater transparency, which I always like to see. Tracking your horses is easy, and the fact that you can reshuffle your bets is also a welcome touch. The transparency also helped me get a rough estimate of how much I should win, and after testing it out I found that Horseplay was true to their word as the predicted and actualized results were a near-enough exact match.

The only gripes I have are rather small, and they are pretty easy to fix. I’d like to see the casino engage more with its customers on social media, and introduce phone support. While the Live Chat is great, it may not be ideal for those who prefer to speak to someone in real time.

Horseplay’s simple gaming model means that I wasn’t surprised that the interface was also very standard. Granted, the categorization could be better but the website is still very easy to use. I also like the fact that an iOS app is available, although the lack of an Android app is something I would like to see fixed in the future.

Overall, I found that the website largely worked well for all mobile casino players regardless of device. There were times when I had to refresh the page as it would freeze, but these occasions were rare.
